Never spoke against Telangana or Dalits – Nadendla

Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Friday condemned the reports that appeared in WikiLeaks Cable alleging that he made comments against Telangana state formation and opposed Dalits.
Talking to media persons at his chamber in the Legislative Assembly, he expressed regrets over the comments appeared in WikiLeaks and said that he never made any statement opposing the Telangana state formation and Dalits.
Stating that he was pained over the comments that appeared in WikiLeaks, he said they were aimed at tarnishing his personal image. He appealed to Telangana leaders and people not to misunderstand him on the comments that appeared in WikiLeaks.
The Speaker said that he would ask External Affairs Minister S M Krishna to look into the issue.
According to WikiLeaks, Nadendla Manohar made certain comments during his tenure as Deputy Speaker while meeting American Consulate General in 2010. WikiLeaks released this report on August 26 this year.
Earlier, the Speaker garlanded the statue of YSR in the assembly premises to mark his second death anniversary. Deputy Speaker Batti Vikramarka was also present in the programme.
