Reminding that a separate Telangana state cannot be achieved through agitations and strikes, the Chief Minister Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday appealed to the striking employees to call off the Sakala Janula Samme to avoid further loss and damage to the people of the region.
Speaking to the media at the airport in Rajahmundry soon after arriving here on a day’s tour of West Godavari district, the Chief Minister pointed out the strike would cause innumerable loss and problems to the people of Telangana and it would also hamper various developmental activities in the region. The strike in the Singareni Colleries is hampering coal production and which in turn would disrupt thermal power generation. “I earnestly appeal to the employees to call off the strike forthwith before further loss and damage is caused”, he observed.
The Chief Minister said that the former Chief Secretary Mr. Mohan Kanda had submitted his report on the crop holiday and after studying the report the government would initiate necessary measures within two days. He also explained about the government’s move to take up recruitments in a big way before January.
When asked about the delay in the aircraft landing, the Chief Minister with a smile said that though he had spent some anxious moments, he was confident that the pilots would diligently handle the situation and safely land the aircraft.
The Union Minister Ms. Panabaka Laxmi expressed concern that the separatist and regional tendencies were hampering the development of the state. She alleged that some vested political interests were creating trouble in the name of separation for selfish ends.
The Union Minister while speaking to the media at Guntur reminded that the agitations and disturbances were affecting financial investments and industrial growth in the state as the investors were forced to look towards other states. While the government is trying its best to make the employees to call of their Sakala Janula Samme, she reminded that the depletion in coal production would hamper power generation and which in turn would lead to various problems in the Telanbgana region.
