T Congress can be a “Trump Card” in “Sakala Janula Samme”

Sakala Janula Samme, as its name suggests is a protest by all sections of people. True to its meaning, the ‘Samme’ is progressing as a veritable total protest by all sections of people in Telangana region. The strike by Singareni coalminers, RTC employees, Teachers, Government employees, Auto drivers etc., as part of this strike is a total success, sending shivers down the spine of ‘andhra’ government. Apart from joining the strike, the spirit and commitment to the objective of the strike ‘Telangana statehood’ is very striking and overwhelming. Despite great repressive measures by their managements coal miners and RTC employees are exhibiting tremendous resolve to make this ‘Samme’, an unqualified success. Not only these employees, but the general public is completely immersed in the strike despite serious inconveniences. The situation emphatically, underscores the genuine desire of all the people of Telangana for getting their earlier state back.
Yet, the state and central governments as their wont are sticking their heads in the sand and are refusing to see the realities on the ground. Added to this they are trying to unleash a disinformation campaign on the magnitude of this strike. But, certain diabolic actions of state government like forcing coal miners by police to go in to mines and trying to run RTC buses by untrained drivers with the escort of police are creating dangerous and yet times quixotic situations in Hyderabad city. The bankruptcy of political will of State and Central governments to tackle this problem is very clearly discernible. As against this, the resolve of Telangana people to defeat this undemocratic attitude of the government is unfolding before us. But, it would not be an easy task. For, these unresponsive governments are trying to make it a long grind for their vicarious reasons.
In this whole scenario, Telangana legislators of Congress and TDP are the real culprits. If they act in sincere support of Telangana people, it would be a cake walk. But for obvious reasons, they don’t do it. T-tdp legislators are drugged by the political venom of their supremo. They are like dead horses; there is no point in flogging the dead horses. Therefore it would be good for Telangana people, to ignore this living dead. The T-congress, steadily emasculated by adhishtanam and andhra congress since 1956, is totally impotent to act on their own. They are mortally afraid of going against Sonia Gandhi and are irrevocably attached to their financial benefits.Yet, this group comprising of ministers, MPs. MLAs & MLCs, as a group, at this stage of ‘Telangana Struggle’ have the potential of turning tables on both Central and State governments to force a decision in favor of Telangana. Particularly the group of Ministers and MPs can be a ‘trump card’ in this political poker game of Telangana State. With their bold political move they can revive their almost closed political lives and can get a new lease of life for Congress Party in Telangana. They can also get credit for getting Telangana state along with TRS and its associates, which was a major concern for Congress Party. In fact they will be doing great service to their adhishtanam also by attempting this daring political act. Because, by design or by circumstances, the adhishtanam has become a hostage in the hands of unscrupulous, andhra congress and is not able to take a decision on Telangana. T-Congress can break this strangle hold and extricate adhishtanam from this precarious situation. It would be many birds in one shot, if T- Congress can play this audacious act. Whether they have the political acumen to do this is the million dollar question.
