US keenly watching the Telangana movement?

WikiLeaks has recently leaked some of the key cable messages of the USA. There is nothing new in these cables. They only mentioned about what has already appeared in our newspapers. The cables mentioned about the Naxalite movement in the Telangana region and the involvement of Naxalites in the Telangana stir. The report sent on December 12, 2009 said that the Naxalites who were strong only in villages, wanted to strengthen in the urban areas in the guise of the Telangana movement. They have enclosed the statements of the then PCC Chief D Srinivas and IGP A R Anuradha and said it was a fact that Naxalites had infiltrated into the Telangana movement. .

In the cable sent on January 5, 2010, they said Maoists were helping in the implementations of the programmes of the Telangana JAC and asserted that even the government agencies had confirmed this. The cables also said that the then Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar has told the US Consulate authorities that separate statehood would be possible if the recruitment of the Naxalites in the Telangana region was successful.

The cables have also mentioned about how the then Governor of the state N D Tiwari was involved in a sex scandal and how he was made to step down. The cables said that the US Authorities had sensed that he had lost his grip on the AP affairs. The cables said Narasimhan who replaced Tiwari was an efficient person and if the situation in the state goes out of hand and civil unrest swells, he would play an important role in the state. The cables have stated that Chandrababu who has promised to support Telangana has later retracted. Without stating his stand on support to the movement, he started stating that he would not object to the resolution for bifurcation of the state. The cables referred to the role of KCR and said he had rejuvenated the Telangana movement only for his political survival.

The US consulate official who sent these cables has also stated that despite this uncertainty and chaos in the state, there was no disruption to the American business activities.
