After by-poll victory, Telangana issue heats up again

After triumphant victory of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in Banswada assembly seat, KTR Rao has said that today’s result proves that people have zero tolerance on Telangana issue.Talking to reporters here, Rao said: ” In the by-poll for Banswada assembly seat that was conducted day before yesterday, the TRS has received the triumphant victory.” ” The poll has given a clear indication to New Delhi that nothing other than TRS would win in this region,” he added.

Emphasising that today’s result proves that people have zero tolerance policy on Telangana issue, Rao said: ” The people of Telangana are not going to spare the Congress. There is no existence of Congress in the Telangana region.” “It goes to prove that you were not with the people. The people will not tolerate you (Congress) People have shown their power by electing the right candidate.”

On the issue of agitation over the creation of a separate state of Telangana, he said: ” We are requesting the UPA Government to come out and resolve the issue before things take a violent turn.” “The central government should intervene, pacify the anger or else when things get out of hand, you will be responsible. Before violence erupts in Telangana, please respond,” he added.

With this win, TRS increased its tally in the assembly to 12.
