An open letter to Congress politicians

Dear Smt Sonia Gandhi, Sri Manmohan Singh, and Mr. Azad:
Are you hell bent on destroying India by your inaction and ineptness? Are you not concerned about the Forty Million citizens of Telangana? Are you not worried about the Economy that is being devastated by your inaction? Have you completely abandoned your duties?
You keep repeating the same excuses:
1. Telangana is a very difficult and complex problem,
2. Telangana situation is a very sensitive one,
3. Telangana problem cannot be solved overnight.
4. It willl take more time,
5. We cannot give you a time frame when we will decide,
6. Telangana needs Consensus of All People and Parties,
7. Our Solution has to be acceptable and satisfactory to all three regions,
8. we will need more time for Consultations,
9. There will be more demands for Statehood if Telangana State is granted,
10. We understand the seriousness of the problem
Do you know that Britain went through hell during World War II but still faced up to the challenge of losing its most valuable colony and income but still took up the daunting task immediately and in 1945, within weeks after elections, Prime Minister Atlee declared in 1946 (or the end of 1945) that Britain will leave India in 1948 and India will be granted Independence. Well, Britain decided the very next year in June 1947, to grant India Independence and passed the Indian Independence Act of 1947 in July 1947. Here is the original Document of that Act:
“Indian Independence Act 1947
1947 CHAPTER 30
An Act to make provision for the setting up in India of two independent Dominions, to substitute other provisions for certain provisions of the Government of India Act,1935 which apply outside those Dominions, and to provide for other matters consequential on or connected with the setting up of those Dominions.[18th July 1947.]
Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo6/10-11/30/introduction/enacted).
That whole process only took months after the British government announced its decision to grant independence to India. And the total time it took PM Atlee for the whole process from announcement to passing the Act in Parliament, just EIGHTEEN months (from start to finish). And that was to create TWO Nations! They had to.
You all think Telangana state decision IS MORE COMPLEX than creating TWO NATIONS? You have already taken TEN LONG YEARS after accepting to form Telangana State, and Two Long Years after making official announcement in the Parliament on December 2009. And you felt no embarrassment to even take back that official announcement just one day after on Dec. 10, 2011. Then you took another three months to announce yet another Committee, Sri Krishna Committee, to study the problem and submit a Report with recommendations. That committee took almost one year to study a problem that has been already studied for decades, actually for half a century, by yet another previous Committee, The STATES Reorganization Committee headed by Judge Fazal Ali. Compare SKC to Fazal Ali Commission. Commissioned in 1953, Fazal Ali covered the whole of India and the 500 odd independent kingdoms, principalities, and kingdoms spread over 3.3 million square kilometers in 1953 when India barely had any roads built, submitted its Report in 1955 and the States Reorganization Act passed in 1956. The Sri Krishna Committee covered only ONE TWELFTH area, only one state, and took almost a year and submitted a Report which basically copied parts of Fazal Ali Commission report and some haphazardly gathered fake data from the state government (no verification) with a Secret Chapter (Chapter
which was ultimately thrown out by your government.
And compare all this to the Simon Commission of 1927 to study constitutional reform in India which toured the current countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh (the whole subcontinent) and submitted its SEVENTEEN VOLUME Report in 1930. That monumental work was done, even though totally rejected by India, at a time of no air transportation, barely any roads existed for automobile travel, and when there was not even an electric typewriter available. Electricity wasn’t available in most of India yet. When was SKC report done? In 2010 when one could travel thousands of miles in a few hours by air and car and when portable computers and laser printers and worldwide Internet was available.
Aren’t you and SKC ashamed of your ineptness? And Why did you waste one year of our time and hundred crores rupees for something you trashed. Are you admitting that you are not capable of solving anything more difficult than Defining Poverty Line Basis? But, you have proved that you are not even able to perform such a small task.
Your appointee, Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia “..admits he is no expert. In an interview with a news channel, Ahluwalia said this was the reason why he accepted recommendations of the Tendulkar committee to formulate BPL schemes. But can a person in rural India can live on Rs 28 a day? Yes, says Montek, “if they get medicines and rations free, if their education is free, then basically at that level survival is possible.” Ahluwalia said he has no ambitions of becoming finance minister.“I am 69 years old, where is the time?” he said. Please note that he is not concerned if he is capable rather, he is disappointed he is 69 years old and that doesn’t leave him a full term (5 years). But, doesn’t he realize that he is the youngest compared to you all! That must be the state of affairs in your government. Ability is NOT needed, only willingness to accept title.
Telangana State formation can’t be that daunting a task in the current technologically developed nation, right? After all, Telangana existed as a State before and Andhra existed as a state before, just a few decades ago and that too created in Independent India. Is it that difficult to demerge the two states whose boundaries are well demarcated already (Fifty four years ago)! Demerge means “to separate one from another with which it was previously merged”, just in case you are unaware of the word!
Why are you making such a simple task into an impossible one? Why are you creating more problems with your confusion over Hyderabad? Hyderabad city is an integral part of Telangana separated by almost Two Hundred kilometers of distance from the nearest Andhra state border? Why are you talking about making it a Union Territory or a Joint Capital, and all such nonsense? Why talk of a Union Territory when even the nation’s capital, Delhi, officially National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), is made into a State? You do know that it has a chief minister (of your own party), right? Then why are you hell bent on this kind of destructive governance?
Even if you make Hyderabad a Joint Capital, are the Andhras so stupid to travel two hundred kilometers through another state to reach their capital city? Does it even make sense?
Did Britain tell India that they invested heavily for almost two centuries (since East India Company) and have emotional attachment to Delhi because they literally built the new city? Did they demand compensation for actually building ALL the modern infrastructure – Railways, Roads, Electric Power Stations, Institutions, Indian penal Code, the Presidential Palace – The Red Fort, The Parliament building, on and on? Did UK demand that Delhi be made into a United Nations Territory? Did they demand to make Delhi a joint capital for India and England? Even Pakistan did not demand Delhi to be made into a joint capital!
And who do the Andhra carpetbaggers and some individuals (even if all Andhra people say so) think they are to demand Hyderabad? They did not even build any thing like the British did in India. The Andhras did not build the Legislative Assembly or the High Court or the Osmania University or the Osmania General Hospital or the Central Library or the fever Hospital or the NIMS, or the Governor’s residence, not even the State Guest House. They looted Hyderabad city and the rest of Telangana Public lands, made tens of thousands of crores of rupees, built palatial houses on occupied lands, and the Andhra government even sold lands it didn’t own, fraudulently, to private real estate companies. Any other business, individual, or a government officer would have been put behind bars and fined millions of rupees.
And these frauds claim ownership of Hyderabad and emotional attachment to it? If they think they can claim that just for the privilege of migrating to Hyderabad to make a living then what should the natives demand who have lived here for hundreds of years, established the city, built it with their sweat, blood, and flesh and nurtured the city to a world famous destination?
Do you all think the natives are stupid or take this nonsense lying down?
And what exactly do you expect to gain by keeping Telangana and Andhra burning? Do you hate the people of Telangana and Andhra? Can’t you tell the few vested Andhra carpetbaggers to get their act together and shape up or ship up? Are those handful your masters? What exactly is the deal?
Enough is Enough.
I have posted an Editorial published by the Editor of The New Indian Express “Congress does a Nero as Telangana burns” for your benefit. I have even highlighted the parts that are the most important for you; so that you don’t take another two years to read the one page editorial advice. It is the most wise advice. Take it. And get to work IMMEDIATELY. And don’t waste any more time or money. Just announce “Telangana State is hereby created, effective immediately”. Just One Sentence. That’s all. You will take another year if it is more than a sentence. Then introduce the Telangana Bill, one page long is enough, on Friday and pass it right away. Inaugurate Telangana State on October 20, 2011. If Britain could inaugurate TWO Huge Nations in Four Weeks, then you can inaugurate One small State in One Week.
If you need any help in writing up the announcement and the Bill, I am ready and willing to assist you. You don’t even have to include my name on the Bill. Just don’t forget to include these seven short words:
Jai Telangana Jai Jai Telangana Jai Hind
