AICC general secretary in charge of State affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad has ruled out imposition of President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh. Talking to the media here on Saturday, Mr Ghulam questioned why speculations were being made out about President’s rule. He spoke to the media after a meeting of the mini-core committee of Congress in the morning. He has, however, said that a solution to the Telangana tangle should not be expected in two or three days. He disclosed that the Centre had started a wider range of talks on the issue. He said the party was talking to those with whom talks were not held earlier. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Rajanarasimha and four ministers were among those with whom discussions were held in the latest round, he added. He also reminded that the AICC has completed discussions with public representatives of all the three regions of the State.
Replying to a question, Azad said the party was proceeding in the direction of resolving the issue. He said that even the Central ministers with whom consultations were held, had not talked about President’s rule.
The Union ministers, Purandareswari and Pallamraju, have expressed their opinions before the core committee in the morning. Though they did not divulge what they told the committee.
