Talking to the media after a meeting with the AICC general secretary in charge of State party affairs, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, here on Sunday, Mr Botcha said there was no truth in the reports in the media to this effect. He also denied that there was any proposal to impose President’s Rule in the State. The APCC chief, who is also the Transport Minister, has denied that the government was trying to privatize the APSRTC.
Asked about the scuffle in Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, he said that he would comment on the matter only after knowing the details.
Referring to the allegations that some responsible persons in the party and government had commented that the Sakala Janula Samme had no effect on public life, Mr Botcha has denied that any one said so. He said that if any one said that the ongoing strike had no effect, it would be wrong.
The APCC Chief said that the Centre and the Congress High Command were making earnest efforts to find a solution to the Telangana problem and hoped that an amicable solution agreeable to all sections would soon be found. He also appealed to all concerned to cooperate with the government in its efforts. He lamented that the common people were being put to hardships because of the ongoing Sakala Janula Samme. He has appealed to the striking employees to withdraw the strike.
