Do not test patience of Telangana people – KCR

The mammoth maha dharna held at Indira Park on Tuesday cautioned the state government not to do anything that would further flare up the situation in the region. The government should be “sensible” enough to guage the intensity of the ongoing Sakkala Janula Samme and desist from filing false cases against those who were actively participating in the agitation for a separate state.
Addressing the gathering, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao asked the government not to test the patience of 4.5 crore people of the region who were demanding a separate state. He said notwithstanding the suppressive and provocative measures of the government, the agitation would continue till the Centre concedes their demand and bifurcates the state in a peaceful manner.
The maha dharna was organised by the Employees Joint Action Committee and was attended by hundreds of employees from Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and the surrounding districts.
Leaders from various political parties and members of JAC steering committee and different public organisations also participated in it. Rao said that the government was trying to weaken the movement by saying that it would not pay the salaries. “Do not worry about it. You will get one-month salary as a bonus for participating in the T agitation in addition to the regular salary once the T state was formed. Not just that, no one, even the contract workers, will lose their jobs,” he said amidst thunderous applause from the people. “No one can stop the agitation or the formation of T state,” Rao thundered.
Referring to the RTC strike, he said, notice was given by Telangana employees and the decision to call-off the strike was taken by NMU leaders, the Managing Director and the Transport Minister, all hailing from Seema Andhra.
This conspiracy yielded nothing as no buses were seen plying anywhere in the Telangana districts. Soon an NMU Association for Telangana would be formed which would thwart such malicious attempts in the future,” he said.
He took exception to slapping of treason cases against him and employee leaders Swamy Goud and Vittal. KCR dared the government to arrest them and get ready to face the consequences. “Crores of people are ready to get arrested for the cause of Telangana. But, is the government ready to detain and lodge all of them in jails? I demand the government to immediately withdraw all those false cases,” he said.
Referring to the speculations like Hyderabad as Union Territory for five years or Rayala Telangana, KCR said that there was no question of accepting such proposals. How would Marathi’s react if decisions about Mumbai were taken from a faraway place like Hyderabad.“It is a ridiculous idea,” he added.
Rao said regional divide between the two regions had come and there was no point in keeping the state united. The Centre has to bow to the aspirations of the people. He said the agitation had the blessings of the women from the region and no agitation which was supported by women had ever been defeated.
No buses were running in the region, employees were out on roads, schools were closed and over 700 children had committed suicide for T state, but the Centre was still dragging its feet, he lamented.
