The senior TRS leader and Siddipet MLA, Mr T Harish Rao, has warned that there would be serious consequences if attempts were made to stop the proposed rail-roko stir from October 9 to 11.

Talking to the media here on Friday, Mr Harish Rao called upon the people of the region to participate in the rail-roko in huge numbers. Referring to the plan of the government to frustrate the rail roko with a three-tier strategy, the TRS leader sarcastically said they would follow a six-tier strategy to make the agitation a success.

Stating that women would also participate in large numbers in the rail-roko agitation, he said if the programme was disrupted, there would be serious consequences similar to what happened on the National Highway No. 9. He said that vehicles and bullock-carts would be parked on the railway tracks to prevent train traffic. Assuring the people that they need not fear the police, he said they would undertake Jail Bharo (fill the jails) if the police resorted to arrests.
