Is Telangana a distant dream?

Troubleshooter creates trouble and a trusted lieutenant of Congress president Sonia Gandhi has after all created trouble!
The statement of Pranab Mukherjee that if Telangana was conceded there would be trouble, has left all protagonists of Telangana in a state of shock. But, even as Congress leaders were critical of Mukherjee, strangely, the TRS chief KCR and JAC Convener Kodandaram took Pranab lightly. As if the two have consulted each other on how to respond, both have chosen to ignore Pranab. KCR says he would once again go to Delhi and convince Pranab. Kodandaram said they are Pranab’s personal views.
In an interview to a TV channel, Pranab said creation of Telangana is a problem, as it would spawn similar problems across the country. He said Telangana was a 50-60-year old problem and it cannot be resolved immediately. “It is impossible to resolve the Telangana issue within a specific time-frame. There are differences among the people and not among the political parties. We need to do a lot of talking to resolve this complex issue, which has been hanging fire for the past 56 years,” was what Pranab said.
Whatever, the inferences made by the TRS, it appears clear to the common man’s eye that the Telangana solution is not in the near future. This was the opinion expressed even by TRS MP Vijayasanti. Describing KCR as an innocent man, she pitied him for still expressing faith on Congress.
Congress MP Sabbam Hari has disclosed some stunning inside informations. He said even when they met Pranab Mukherjee a month ago, his stand was the same. “There were 100 leaders including MPs and MLAs then. But they all came out and told the media that the center was positive. Politicians are not telling what has happened inside closed-door meetings to the media. For face saving they are giving a rosy picture,” he added. He also said that during their meeting with Home Minister Chidambaram, he has categorically said that the December 9 statement of his was a mistake. He said he has realized that and amended it through another statement, Hari said.
This shocking revelation of the Congress MP Hari shows that leaders of all parties knew all along that the Telangana issue would not be resolved immediately and still told the media and through them the people, altogether different stories.
