Komatireddy asks CM to shun tough posture
News pulse, Politics | admin | October 12, 2011 at 4:09 pmFormer Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has advised Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to shun his aggressive stance with regard to the strike of the government employees. Talking to mediapersons at the Congress Legislature Party office inside the Assembly premises on Wednesday, he said they were all ready to go to jails for the sake of Telangana. Stating that the final stage of achieving Telangana was round the corner, he said the Chief Minister should extend cooperation to the agitators and desist from making attempts at suppressing the movement through police. Asserting that despite worst provocations the movement was proceeding peacefully, he said the government should do its bit in maintaining peace.
Faulting the police for registering cases against Telangana agitators, Mr Reddy asked the Chief Minister as to why cases were not registered against the Seema minister T G Venkatesh, who had declared that they would raise their own armies and the TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, who had warned that Andhra region would turn into a cauldron if Telangana was conceded. He also termed the cases registered against TNGO JAC leaders Swamy Goud and Vithal as totally vindictive. Stating that they know how to achieve Telangana, he asked the Chief Minister not to provoke the peaceful agitators.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Manda Jagannatham has alleged that the Chief Minister was conspiring to foil the Telangana agitation. He said the Telangana Congress MPs would be meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar later in the evening and make efforts to get their resignations accepted.
