Taking the remarks of Union Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee on Telangana issue lightly, the Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram has said that the remarks were his personal opinion and they did not reflect the stand of Congress Party. He made it clear that the proposed ‘Rail Roko’ on October 9, 10 and 11 will be observed as announced earlier and said that the future course of action would be finalized within two days.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Prof. Kodandaram said that the JAC will respond only when the Congress Party announces its stand officially. He said that Mr Pranab’s remarks were not correct, though they were his personal opinion.

The Telangana movement’s heat has touched the nation’s capital Delhi, he said and added that the State government was adopting an adamant attitude towards the on-going Sakalajanula Samme. Ridiculing the argument that the movements for separate states would be intensified across the nation if the Telangana state was carved out, Prof. Kodandaram said that there were no such movements when the NDA government had created three states in the past.
