Rayapati says SA’ites will retaliate
News pulse, Politics | admin | October 5, 2011 at 4:09 amThe Congress senior leader and MP, Mr Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, has warned the Telangana agitators that Seemandhra people would retaliate, if they raid people or their properties.
Talking to the media here on Wednesday, Mr Rayapati said they would not tolerate attacks in the name of Sakala Janula Samme. He said that people of Seemandhra were ready for retaliatory action. He has demanded that stringent action be taken by the Chief Minister and police authorities against those trying to create chaos.
He reiterated that Hyderabad was no one’s property and every one in the country had a right to visit the place. In fact, as per the Constitution, any Indian citizen belonging to any region could go to any other region of his choice and no one could deny this right. Every citizen of the country had a right to live in Hyderabad as they were living in Delhi, Mumbai and other cities of India, he has asserted. Stating that Hyderabad city was not the property of the people of Telangana, he has asserted “we too have an equal right to that city.”
Mr Rayapati has been an opponent of formation of Telangana right from the beginning. He has several times in the past had said that the Union government never promised Telangana. Other prominent Congress Seemandhra MPs like Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao and Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal also oppose Telangana and it has been the allegation of the Telangana leaders that these rich MPs were responsible for blocking the formation of Telangana state.
