‘T’ MPs to go on fast-until death

Leaders supporting Telangana and opposing bifurcation are gearing up for an intensified direct fight with the Centre for achieving their avowed goals. The Congress MPs from the Telangana region met at Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki’s house here on Saturday and decided to go on fast-unto-death in the event of the Centre not making a positive announcement on Telangana. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mr Madhu Yashki said the MPs would fight along with other people’s organizations for achieving Telangana State. He also demanded that salaries be paid to the striking employees. He said all the Telangana Congress MPs were ready to resign en masse, in case it became necessary.
The Telangana Telugu Desam Forum has also had discussions at the Telugu Desam Legislaure Party office inside the Assembly premises on Saturday morning. The Delhi developments are reported to have been discussed in the meeting. Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu also held a tele-conference with the party leaders of Telangana region on Saturday. It is learnt that Mr Naidu has told his colleagues that they should inform the people that the TDP was not against any decision taken by the Union government on the Telangana issue. He also asked the Telangana leaders to counter the threat being posed to the party by the Congress and TRS, which he said, were out to finish the TDP in the Telangana region.
