Telangana RTC JAC on Tuesday charged the State Government of conspiring to privatise the AP State Road Transport Corporation and warned the government to stop giving permission to private bus operators to run buses on national highways and busy routes.
Demanding the Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy to withdraw permission given to private operators to run buses since, the RTC employees boycotted their duties as part of sakala janula samme from September 19, the RTC JAC chairman D Anandam said that they will not allow private buses to run, once the employees withdrew their agitation.
Alleging that the government conspired to privatise the RTC by giving permission to the new bus operators on the pretext that commuters were facing hardships to reach their destination in festival season, the JAC leader said “giving permission to private operators was also an attempt to destabilise the Telangana movement and create insecurity among the employees”.
He said all the employee unions will unite and launch another round of struggle against the government if it did not stop the private bus operators from running buses.
