Will Jana ‘resign’ or ‘will he not’?

Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has resigned to the cabinet and his Assembly membership as he has earlier announced. In Nalgonda he addressed a public meeting where he said that he was ready for any sacrifice, including leaving the Congress party.
Will any one follow him, is the big question being discussed now.
Reports say that Telangana senior leader and Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy is next to quit the cabinet. If that happens, it would have big impact on the Congress party. It has been earlier said that Jana would lead a virtual revolt in the Congress and head a splinter group of those leaving the parent party. At one time it was thought to be the only solution for Congress men of the Telangana region to save their faces. Despite the submission of their resignations to the Assembly, no one is believing them. In villages, people are attacking them. It appeared that they would not get their credibility back, until they leave the Congress party.
But while the resignations of MLAs of other parties would cause only by elections, resignations of Congress members would pull the government down. In that event, there would be President’s rule.
President’s rule could be imposed for six months initially and extended for another six months, under the constitution. Telangana protagonists appear to be re-thinking about their earlier decision of resigning to the Congress party en masse as they are not ready for Presidential rule and the eventual mid-term poll.
Though Telangana Congress men have been harping on the Telangana song, they have not sacrificed anything so far. They were doing the rounds to the secretariat, ministers’ chambers and getting everything they want, done. But once the President’s rule is imposed, it would be an end to all political activity and the authority will totally slip into the hands of the governor. Officials also might not oblige them as they are doing now.
Coming back to Komatireddy’s resignation, Congress leaders in the Telangana region are not taking him seriously. Komatireddy literally sat in the pocket of the then Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and got several benefits through his closeness. It is said that he has grabbed several big contracts. It is being discussed in Congress circles that Komatireddy left the cabinet as he was recently denied of a very big contract. Palvai Govardhan Reddy, Congress senior leader from Nalgonda has openly said it. He said if Komatireddy gets another big contract, he would come back.
Congress leaders of Telangana region are planning their strategies, even as party MP Manda Jagannatham has appealed to them not to pull the government down. He says Telangana could not be achieved by bringing the government down. If President’s rule is imposed, who will answer their questions about Telangana? None practically.
