Talking to mediapersons at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) after former Congress Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy withdrew his nine-day fast earlier in the day, he said the Telangana state would be a reality only with agitations and mounting pressure on the UPA II Government. Mr Kodandaram said that the JAC would announce its strategy to be adopted during the ensuing Assembly and Parliament Sessions and added the JAC leaders would mount pressure on leaders in New Delhi during the winter session of the Parliament. He flayed the Telangana Ministers for not expressing concern about Mr Komati Reddy’s health during his fast.
”How can we believe that Telangana Ministers, who failed to turn up even for their Former Cabinet colleague Komatireddy’s ”deeksha”, would bring a Telangana state?” he asked. ”Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy did not enquire about Komatireddy’s health either”, he said and asked him to call off the ”deeksha” only over the phone, he alleged. ”This indicates the discrimination Seemandhra leaders show against Telangana leaders over their agitation,” he stated.
