TDP chief CBN’s ‘Rythu Poru Bata’ beginning in Telangana today marks his efforts to revive his dying party in Telangana. With his indecisive attitude over the Telangana issue, Babu has allowed the party to suffer. Though he has allowed his Telangana leaders to shout louder than others on the Telangana issue, it has not convinced the people longing for separate state. The party suffered major setbacks in the region, as MLAs started deserting it.

Chandrababu Naidu is trying to strengthen the party and give it a fresh breath. It is with this intention that he is launching his ‘Rythu Poru Bata’ in Thummuru, under Sattupalli constituency, where the Telangana sentiments are on low key. He will also tour the Nalgonda district.

TDP ranks are determined to make Naidu’s visit successful. Though it was initially feared that TRS would create hurdles to Naidu’s tour, the party became silent after TDP leaders said they would burn TRS offices if they tried to interfere with Naidu’s tour. TRS MLA K T Rama Rao has said that TDP was already a dead force in Telangana and they would not waste their time by obstructing Naidu’s tour.

Naidu is a good statesman and an experienced politician. If he thought that his visit to Telangana would help strengthening his party, it should be so. He has earlier tried in vain to convince his MLAs to visit their constituencies despite the brickbats people may choose to hurl at them. Now he wants to stand out as an example to rekindle the dying confidence among his party men belonging to the Telangana region.
