News pulse, Politics | admin | November 22, 2011 at 7:40 amCongress MP from Telangana region, Manda Jagannadham spoke to the media in the Parliament premises after attending the Lok Sabha today on the first day of its winter session. He told that all the 8 MPs from Telangana , who attended the parliament today, have met the party president Smt. Sonia Gandhi in Parliament Bhavan and spoke with her.
Mr. Jagannadham said “There is no going back on separate Telangana demand. We all the MPs have registered our protest effectively both inside and outside the parliament. TRS and TDP MPs also co-operated with us. We all collectively presnted our demand before the Lok Sabha.” He told that hopefully the congress high command will take a decision about Telangana and will announce it in the Parliament during this session only. “Going by the indications from some prominent ministers in the cabinet, we are confident that the decision will be a positive one.”
Recalling the incident when the 8 Congress MPs met Smt. Sonia Gandhi in the Parliament house, he said “She received us very cordially and pleasantly when we greeted her. There was not a speck of resentment towards us, as many people expected that she would be annoyed with us for confronting the high command with Telangana issue. Her pleasantness itself is an indication that the decision the party is going to take on T-issue will be positive and acceptable to all.”
