Cong T politicians to float a NEW party?

Irked by the new proposal of the AICC to constitute second States Reorganization Commission (SRC) to solve the Telangana tangle, Congress leaders of the region have reportedly come to the conclusion that they must launch their own party for their political survival.

It is being felt that they would not have any future if they continue in Congress and if they do not start their own party, the only other option left for them would be to join the TRS. However, if they join the TRS, they doubt that there was no guarantee that they would get party ticket in the 2014 elections. There is already dissent in the TRS towards senior leaders of other parties joining and gaining dominant role in the party, ignoring the claims of those who have been working since several years. Though TRS has been keen on its ‘Akarsh’ programme, it has been facing stiff opposition internally for admission of senior leaders of other parties and their domination.

Thinking about this predicament, Congress leaders appear to have come to the conclusion that they should launch their own Telangana party and if necessary they could tie up with the TRS in the 2014 elections. It is learnt that party MPs K Kesava Rao, Gutta Sukhinder Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, S Rajaiah, Balaram Naik and Ponnam Prabhakar are of the view that launching Telangana party was the only solution for checking party men from migrating to the TRS and also convince the people of their commitment towards Telangana. It is learnt that they are trying to ascertain the intentions of the Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy who has surprised everyone by going to the secretariat and attending to his duties yesterday. In fact, it was Jana Reddy, who mooted the proposal of separate party and was expected to lead it. The MPs are also trying to discuss the matter with the union Petroleum minister S Jaipal Reddy.
