Fasting Komati Reddy stubborn

Fasting former minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has rejected the request of Union Petroleum Minister S Jaipal Reddy to give up his fast. The Union minister spoke to Komatireddy over telephone and told him that the Centre was seriously thinking in the direction of solving the Telangana problem. He asked the former minister, who has been continuing his fast despite being shifted to hospital, to give it up.

Komatireddy told Jaipal Reddy that he would not withdraw his fast, until the Union government made a specific announcement on Telangana. Meanwhile, former Speaker K R Suresh Reddy has dismissed news stories about creation of development councils for Telangana as a figment of imagination. He visited the NIMS hospital on Monday and enquired about the health of Komatireddy.
