Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy exuded confidence that the process of creating a separate Telangana state would begin soon, as the Congress high command was said to be in favour of the division of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to reporters along with Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy at Anumula mandal headquarters on Tuesday, the Minister said that the Congress leaders from the region had already informed the high command about the situation and the party also understood the aspirations of the people who were strongly seeking the bifurcation of the State.

Mr Reddy claimed that the Congress is not against formation of small states and it would always be at the forefront in creating new states in the country. “If the party high command fails to take a decision on the T issue, Congress leaders from the region will sit again and decide the future course of action. But, we hope that the Union Government would initiate the process towards the separate state issue as assured by the leadership,” he affirmed.

As the Congress party is in power at the Centre and the State, the Union Government will not delay the issue any further and the solution will emerge soon, Mr Jana Reddy remarked.
