Speaker Nadendla Manohar has accepted the resignations of MLAs Nagam Janardana Reddy and Nallapureddy Srinivasa Reddy.

Both were elected as TDP MLAs in the 2009 elections. While Nagam has resigned from the TDP as he differed with his party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on his Telangana stand, Nallapureddy has also resigned from the party, differing with the style of functioning of Naidu. As he been supporting Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, chief of the YSR Congress of late, TDP has asked the Speaker to disqualify him. Even as the petition was pending before the Speaker, Nallapureddy has also resigned to the Legislature membership. Nagam has started his own organization Telangana Nagara Samiti after he resigned from the TDP. After failing to get his resignation accepted by the Speaker, Nagam has filed a petition in the High Court asking it to direct the Speaker to accept his resignation. But Speaker has accepted his resignation, even before his petition was taken for consideration by the High Court.

Nallapureddy has thanked the Speaker for accepting his resignation. He said he would now join the YSR Congress in the presence of Jagan and work for the party as an ordinary worker.

Meanwhile Dhoolipala Narendra, TDP MLA has said that accepting Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s resignation was undemocratic as the petition asking for his disqualification was pending.
