TRS women wing supporters arrested

Tension prevailed here on Tuesday when the women’s wing of Telangana Rashtra Samiti took out a rally demanding that the Congress government at the Centre introduce Separate Telangana State Bill in the ongoing Parliament Session. The women’s wing of TRS organized the rally on the occasion of two years of completion of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s fast for Separate Telangana State in 2009.

The TRS women leaders paid tributes at the Martyrs memorial at the Gun Park opposite the Legislative Assembly. Later, the police arrested the Telangana protagonists when they tried to take out a peace rally from Gun Park to the nearby Lal Bahadur stadium.

TRS women’s wing president T. Uma has demanded that the Centre initiative the process of carving out of separate Telangana State without delay. Stating that the agitation was going on in a peaceful manner so far, she warned that the Centre would be held responsible if the agitation turned violent.
