Will Jagan be next?

The news that YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was called by the CBI in connection with the Obulapuram Mining Company case has created sensation in political circles. CBI has got its office in Koti under impregnable police cover, for this interrogation. A heavy posse of police force was posted at the office. The CBI has also got the road from Ram Kothi to Kothi sealed. Though both the CBI and YSR Congress leaders were stating that this was just an interview as a witness, things do not appear to be so simple.

If Gali Janardhana Reddy, owner of the Obulapuram Mining Company has simply cheated the government with his illegal mining, he would alone be held responsible for it. But, if any one in the government got a share in his illegal earnings, in return for favours done, then it becomes a complicated scam. There are allegations that Gali got undue favours during the rule of Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Jagan reaped the benefits of these illegal dealings.

It is also being alleged that Jagan has started his Sakshi newspaper and TV channel by getting investments from those who were favoured by his late father. If it was proved that Gali’s ill-gotten income was ploughed into any of Jagan’s companies, then Jagan would certainly be the target. It may take some more time for the CBI to go to the depth of this investigation and unravel the mysteries. But when it was done, if Jagan was proved to be a beneficiary, he would surely
