YSR Cong to contest polls in Telangana
News pulse, Politics | admin | November 28, 2011 at 5:36 amIt is reliably learnt that the YSR Congress of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has decided to throw its hat in the ring, in the ensuing by-elections in the Telangana region. The by-elections were caused by the resignation of Nagar Kurnool MLA Nagam Janardana Reddy and the death of Mahabubnagar MLA Rajeswar Reddy. Apart from these two seats, the Speaker is likely to accept the resignations of some more MLAs of Telangana.
It is learnt that Jagan’s party is likely to tell the people of the region that it was for Telangana, by contesting these by elections. Though the party does not hope to win the elections, it is learnt that it is planning to strengthen its cadre through the contest.
