Congress party is making arrangements for getting the Jagan group MLAs, who had voted for the no-confidence motion, disqualified. Government whip Kondru Murali is organizing things in this direction. He has met the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Monday and held discussions on the disqualification issue. It is learnt that Murali has discussed with the Speaker about the procedure to be adopted in the matter.

Speaking to the media after his meeting with the Speaker, Murali said that the party would take a decision after meeting the Chief Minister. He later met the Chief Minister. It is learnt that the Chief Minister has instructed Murali to go ahead and register a former complaint against the MLAs about their anti-party activity and request for disqualification.

The Congress High Command has given green signal to the Chief Minister to not only axe the 16 MLAs who voted against his government, but also get four MLCs who have been criticizing the government to get disqualified.

MLCs Pulla Padmavati, Jupudi Prabhakar, Konda Murali and S V Mohan Reddy are staunch supporters of Jagan and have been attacking the government and had not stopped their diatribe against the government despite repeated warnings, said Congress sources. It is learnt that the PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana has already asked the Council whips to submit a petition to the Council chairman A Chakrapani against the MLCs. The PCC chief and the Chief Minister held a prolonged discussion on the disqualification issue and the fall out of the move. It is learnt that the Congress High Command is going to get the by-election prospects and mood of the people surveyed by an independent agency shortly.
