Telangana Political JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram on Friday accused the former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy of cheating the people of the Telangana region by voting in favour of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government when the no-confidence motion, tabled by the Telugu Desam party, was put to vote.
Unveiling Telangana flag at the Martyrs memorial in the Gun Park opposite Legislative Assembly building, Prof. Kodandaram has declared that the TJAC was ready to wage a war against the former minister, who made tall claims that he had resigned from the Cabinet in protest against the Centre’s delay tactics on separate Telangana State.
Stating that the ruling Congress party was the main enemy of the people of Telangana, he said that they have no patience to wait for the Centre’s announcement on separate State.
Recalling that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had announced on this day in 2009 that process for carving out Telangana State had begun, the TJAC chief alleged that the Seemandhra capitalists had sabotaged the process of State bifurcation by resorting to blackmailing tactics. Demanding that the Congress-led UPA government keep its word of carving out Telangana as promised, Prof. Kodandaram said that they will be constrained to intensify their agitation for which the Congress party alone would be held responsible.
Taking a vow at the Telangana martyrs’ memorial that the agitation would continue till they achieve the goal, Prof. Kodandaram strongly felt that Telangana could be achieved only though relentless mass agitation. Stating that there was no question of awaiting the Centre’s decision any longer, he said that the people of the region were yearning for separate State for decades. He also advised the TDP Telangana Forum leaders to spearhead their agitation only after their party supremo Chandrababu Naidu made his stand clear on the Telangana issue.
The TJAC leader also criticized the TTDP leaders for proclaiming Chandrababu Naidu as their leader even though he did not utter a word about Telangana issue in the Assembly. If the elected representatives of all the parties in the region were sincere over Telangana, they should quit their parties and posts and plunge into the agitation, he added.
Alleging that the TDP was obstructing the movement for State bifurcation, he said the Telangana TDP leaders have failed to expose the conspiracy of the Seemandhra-dominated government. Demanding that the government shed its rigid attitude towards the Telangana issue and translate its promise into action, the TJAC chief said that the agitation would be continued in several ways.
