Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that the TD was gaining strength in Telangana region and TRS would go the Praja Rajyam way and merge into the Congress soon. Mr Naidu questioned the Centre for granting national project status to two projects in Uttar Pradesh while ignoring similar demands by AP. He also said that the state was passing through a severe power crisis and the electricity wires would soon be fit for hanging clothes.

Addressing a public meeting after winding up his Rythu Poru Bata padayatra at Nusthilapur, Mr Naidu spewed fire on Congress and TRS saying he never talked against Telangana and allowed T-TD leaders to go by public sentiment. “Mr Chiranjeevi came with the plank of social justice but ended up getting justice for himself. The day is not far off when TRS too will merge with Congress,” he remarked. Mr Naidu also said it was unfair on the party of Prof Kodandaram and TRS to criticise TD on Telangana issue.
